A Biblical Perspective of President Barack
Obama’s Journey to the White House

Hope in the Valley is an epic poem which chronicles President Barack Obama’s political and spiritual journey from his candidacy to the presidency. Rendered in epic literary format, Hope in the Valley uses the Biblical analogy of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones  (Ezekiel 37)  and Isaiah’s call  (Isaiah 6:8) to suggest how President Obama was called to serve during America’s midnight crisis or recession.

The epic is provocative and thought provoking as it expresses the divine perspective of  hope and change needed in valley experiences.  It presents powerful images of how President Obama went down into America’s valley after his election. Like Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, President Obama used his platform of “Change” to begin to help the people in America to come out of the valley.  Using the analogy of dry bones coming alive, President Obama urged the American people to come alive with hope, join together and begin to come out of the valley. Alive with hope, the people began to join together  from the foot bone to the head bone:  “One body, One People and One nation under God.”

The epic expresses how God speaks hope and change in valleys. It also shows how God and uses ordinary people to carry out His plans and begin to restore hope during  a midnight crisis.
